Well-fitting Shoes, on March 9th, 2018
She's clearly had her coffee there!
Greetings and salutations yet again, fellow humans. Any day that we get to continue drawing breath in and out is a good one, so why not start out today being grateful for it? Gratitude is an attitude (or, deliberately chosen posture of the mind and heart), a choice, and no one can decide for you (nor should they try to).
Recently, now that I'm no longer ill 24/7 (thankfully!) I've been gathering bags of unworn or ill-fitting clothes and shoes to donate, benefiting the charities, their recipients, and my own household by freeing up space by de-cluttering. I love this win-win-win situation and clear out superfluous things on an infrequent (but regular) basis.
Please enjoy another song while I refill my empty coffee cup:

How did I end up with ill-fitting shoes? Well, at the time I tried each pair on, briefly, I thought they fit me and that, because they fit, I'd wear them, only to find later on after some extended wear (hours, not minutes) that the fit wasn't as I needed it to be. In short? If shoes do not fit me, I don't wear them. Neither should you, both figuratively and literally (or, go ahead, but be mindful that, in both cases, wearing shoes that do not fit isn't good for you).
Therefore, if I've said/ posted something that personally offends you, it is your responsibility to ascertain what it is that you've chosen to find so profoundly offensive. Have I magically been given the power to control your innermost thoughts and beliefs? If so, how on earth did that happen, and what do you expect me to do with it?
Then again, there's always Reality instead, meaning that what I've said about you is Truth, which resonates inside of you (meaning that the shoe does, in fact, fit) and you've chosen to wear it.
Again... this is my fault how? Sorry, but I think it is now "Big Girl Panties" time.
A brittle ego is far too easily bruised. Why would anyone choose to live that way? Yet so many do.
In other news, it took several phone calls and weeks to accomplish, but the billing discrepancies and service issues that have been plaguing the Internet + TV service we switched to in December have just recently been resolved (as far as I can tell, pending the next few billing cycles). Though I despise having to threaten businesses with formal complaints to their Federal authorities, experience has taught me that is often the only way that massive international companies will correct billing issues on their end: by force of threat. Modern "customer service' is much like the way our elders are treated: those who cannot advocate for themselves and/or do not have someone to advocate for them are often treated very poorly and inadequately. This is sadly a reality of the world we live in today. Therefore, in the spirit of things that fit, it is fitting to stand up for what is right and demand it be so. To do otherwise is reckless, and foolish.
So we deal with the imperfections of Life as they come; we accept our shortcomings rather than justify or deny them; we help others when and where possible; we de-clutter, simplify, regroup; no matter our age, we learn and keep learning with the attitude that, until all is known, nothing is completely known.
How will you face Life today? Are your BGP on, or do you need to go buy a pair? 👠
