Plastic? That's forever - October 4th, 2024
Whoever said that art is timeless is either uninformed, or, a liar.
Hello, dear Reader, and welcome to my blog (again, if applicable). It's not quite five-o'clock in the morning here in the MST.
So that's what the Internet had to say about the LIE I searched which you can see there above the highlighted text. Maybe that was true, once upon a time. But let's be honest, that canned response literally only applies to art these days IF the artist is dead. Otherwise, it's a bald-faced LIE.
So, what I'd like to know today, dear Reader, and maybe you're wondering too, how does one judge "good art" today? There's no real answer to this because "art" has become nothing more than a school-yard popularity contest. At least, back in the day, if the artist was an asshole (like I am) at least other people had the decency to acknowledge the excellence of his/her art. Yeah, those days are gone, forever gone.
ALL of the best things in this life are like sunrises: profoundly beautiful but only here for a matter of fleeting moments, whereas plastic bottles will 'live' forever.
