Hunter x Hunter 404 is out and I would like to talk about. This reaction will have spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled then stop now and go check out the chapter over at Viz Media or Shonen Jump. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.

A question of loyalty comes 2 ways. The new chapter has Kurpika explaining to Zhan Li the nature of his coin. Well it is more for us. Kurpika knows he has to be careful of how much information he gives out. As such he has not problem telling Zhang li your nen beast is a conjure. Basically it is creating the coins. The thing here is it is doing so for loyalty. All be it through manipulative nature that Kurpika is using tactfully. Well they both are. Everyone move on this boat made by the big shots is one made with a strategy to go along with. Nothing is done as a reckless reaction. As such both of them are gauging the other. Be it we only get Kurpika perspective on mental strategy here but you can see why. Through him we get a good idea of Zhang li words as well as where it leaves him and the young prince.

To recap Kurpika notes that Zhang li is in leagues with the mafia he is speaking of the Xi-yu family. You see each prince besides having there own set of body guards some of are tied to the underworld. One of them is Zhang. As such while Kurpika has to note this a good move getting his protection he can’t help but point out the con that he will kill the young prince woble who Kurpika is protecting with ease as is the nature of that world. A double sided sword of a move but one he did all the same.

This touches on the one thing with Hunter X Hunter as you have to remember this was basically Kurpika answering Zhang li question. That was what this meeting basically was. That and when he can explain nen to his man in there workshop as that is one of the thing Kurpika is doing. Yet you can see all the thought that is going into what is being said as well as what is not. A lot of gears moving for just a short exchange is one of the many details the series is known for.

That being said it isn’t the only thing going on. We see Halkenberg has made his move using his body swap ability to take over someone else. The chapter had him telling Benjiman something else about it though. To that end I apologized for that as I miss understood. That stated though we see this body switch being played with in its own way. It is now clear when the switch was made as we didn’t see the meeting between Halkenberg and Balisamico. But it happened it would appear he used it to take over the other guys body.

The thing about this is the is a play on loyalty as Benjamine has no idea Halkenberg is inside Balismanico. One the other hand This is all hinging on the fact that his body doesn’t have to be alive. It is another gamble as Halekenberg is hoping his mind being present still counts. Not only that but he can stay in control to make the moves necessary to secure victory. A lot of hoping compared to Kurpika who is taking some risk but it doesn’t seem to be nearly as much as Halkenberg.

Keep in mind this is all playing out as we have the Phantom troupe hunting down for the Heil -ly family. If you are wonder about that. They are hunting Hisoka and a rival faction said they would help if they get rid of Heil-ly. Only issue is there nen abilities made that a lot more tougher than they would liked. So they have to regroup a bit. Something that looks like we will catch up with in the next chapter.

As for this one it was cool. Halkenberg use of mind swapping is an interesting considering how he planning to use it. A lot of risk as we see him hope to win by being another persona to Balisamico. This is happening as we got the nature of Zhang li coins paints a lot for Togashi to use in order to help decide the heir for the Kupika empire. A lot of plotting to take in which is why I guess we are turning back to the phantom troupe to see get some straight forward things for a bit. Still good things.
