Christmas Rapping
Christmas Rapping
Christmas Rapping
I wrote this decades ago, so I was a bit surprised when it looked to me like I hadn’t published it here yet. I performed it publicly once for a non-profit. It’s intended to be spoken (in Santa’s voice), with a bit of simple beatboxing
Well, I’m MC SC, Santa Claus to some
And every year people wait for me to come
Down their chimneys, with lots of toys
Some for the girls and some for the homeboys
Well, I’m living large, I’m that kind of guy
And word up, my reindeer are fly-
ing over, the rooftops
They make a billion stops
They got to make the night drops from the workshop
Where the elves are
And they’re working hard
To make a boombox or a toy car
And they do it all, ‘spite of being small
In fact they’re not much bigger than an action figure
But the rhythm of the givin’
And the smells of the bells
Set my toes tappin’
Everybody ready for some Christmas rappin’!
(beatbox)
Everybody say ho!
(Ho!)
Say ho ho!
(Ho ho!)
Say ho ho ho ho ho ho!
Well, I’m SC, I’m the Man in Red
And I hope you listened to what I said
Because
I got to go, I got to fly, I got to leave!
The clock on the wall says Christmas Eve
Boi-yeah!
